I walked at sunrise in the mountains ... I was going to the Cascades d'Ars, and the ambiance was foggy and calm ... Suddenly, few peaks appeared in the clouds, into the morning light. I saw the distant realm of the last snows ... It was really mystical and grandiose, but some seconds later, the mountains had disappeared again.
A beautifully composed photograph. The snow stands out brilliantly, and the mistiness of the background peaks is a nice touch too. Your timing appears to be spot-on.
The impression of height could be made even better by a small crop at the bottom of the photograph and one on the right hand side, so we have just a hint of the clouds surrounding the lower parts of the range.
The blue colour of the cloud is lovely and makes the black-and-white of the mountain stand out much more. The darkness of it gives the illusion of details lost - this would be solved with the crop I think.
Makes me think of this interesting old time radio show I listened to not too long ago about a man who was separated from his group and fell into a valley. The people there were all blind and did not know that there was a world beyond them because rock walls surrounded them. The man thought he would be king of the mountain because he could see, but they did not understand him when he talked about sight or the sky, and instead they labeled him crazy. Anyhow, he fell in love with a girl who had eyes but was still blind, and he was planning to marry her, but the only blind people wouldn't let him unless those weird bulges he called 'eyes' were removed (they all just had empty sockets). He wanted the girl to go with him, but she wouldn't. He finally escaped and left her, but the sad thing is he went blind on his way back. So he lost his eyes and the lady he loved.

All in all, very aesthetically pleasing.
